Plot Summary: Dr. Norman Spencer and his wife Claire have what seems like the perfect life.  Happily married they have recently renovated a fantastic house.  Norman is a successful scientist although somewhat absorbed and in the shadow of his famous father.  Claire's only daughter has just left for college and Claire has more time on her hands.  Claire finds strange things happening in the house.  Is it something to do with her recent "near fatal" car crash or has it something to do with her strange neighbours or could it be something closer to home!  Claire attempts to search for the answer........

Review:  This supernatural thriller has plenty of mystery and intrigue with loads of "edge of the seat" moments.  You'll jump out of your skin more than once during this one!  The film builds up the suspense slowly and steadily and ends in a climax of scary suspense and frights that won't disappoint.

Some clever camera work adds to the atmosphere of the film.  For example the Spencer's house looks safe and comforting when filmed in the sun light from a high angle but when filmed in the rain from ground level the house towers above you menacingly.  Other unusual camera angles and positions have been attributed to an Alfred Hitchcock influence.  There has been many references to the Hitchcock factor and perhaps this is one of the problems with the film as these influences are very obvious.  For example, there are the red herrings that Hitchcock used so well to throw the audience off the track, the purposely built house which is not unlike the house in the classic Phsyco and then there is the Rear Window element.

Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer look good and work well together in this film.  Michelle Pfeiffer in particular is excellent and in some repects this is her movie.  She looks genuinely scared, upset, confused or angry as the scene demands.

Well worth a watch but not alone!
