Plot Summary

|
John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) are
the best of friends, both bachelors and both serial wedding crashers.
Tempted by free drink, good food and, more importantly, single girls
looking for love, they specialise in gate-crashing weddings. With
rehearsed stories and polished chat-up-lines the pair are quickly accepted
amongst the wedding guests. They have it down to a fine art and have
learnt numerous tricks so that they will be the life-and-soul of the
parties. John's outlook on things changes when, at a high-society wedding,
he meets someone special...

There isn't an awful lot to the
story and the movie does take some ideas from other movies, most
noticeably from
Meet The Fockers. Another problem is that there are a couple of parts
that serve very little purpose either to the story or to the comedy. These
parts appear to be just unnecessary 'fillers'. Nonetheless the comedy is
good and it's very funny in parts...plenty of big laughs. With plenty of
humorous sexual situations and innuendo the 15A certificate is warranted.
Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn have
teamed up a number of times before to make movies but it is Vaughn who
gets the funnier character in Wedding Crashers. His character,
Jeremy, is totally unscrupulous and he gets himself into the funniest
predicaments. Isla Fisher nearly steals the show from everyone and is
great in her role of Gloria, the bunny-boiler from hell who latches onto
Jeremy. She provides some good laughs. Christopher Walken and Jane Seymour
play Mr. and Mrs. Cleary, the parents of Gloria and Claire the bridesmaids
who catch the attention of the wedding crashers. They are somewhat
underused in the movie which is a shame.
Bottom Line: Predictable
story line, silly at times, but very funny in parts. If you enjoy
Wedding Crashers
you might also enjoy
