Director: Dominic Sena Rating: 3 Stars - worth a watch. Plot Summary: Gabriel Shear (John Travolta) is a renegade CIA agent who wants to make America safe from terrorists. He plans to support his unauthorised operations by stealing 9 billion dollars from a secret government account. To help him get the money he needs Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman), a notorious computer hacker, to break the codes that will give him access to the money. Stanley is reluctant to help as he knows he will end up back in prison if he is caught but he is pressurised by Gabriel and promised a huge amount of money… Review: This is a fast paced explosive action movie that revolves around a very silly plot. Swordfish is all about action even if it is meaningless and over-the-top at times. From the explosive start to the end the movie is stuffed with stunts. There is no fear of nodding off during this movie! If you can ignore the silly plot and you enjoyed movies like Face Off and Gone in 60 Seconds you’ll enjoy this. Like many action movies it won’t leave a lasting impression and it is quickly forgotten. Acting takes second place to the action but Travolta deserves a mention as he is cool and slick as the dangerous but likeable Gabriel.
