  Review

I went to this movie expecting something in the style of Scream and I know What You Did Last Summer (i.e. solid if formulaic horror). I was pleasantly surprised however, as My Little Eye is imaginative, although seemingly low budget, fare. Similar to the Blair Witch Project but with an inventive and original style of its own the film's scares are complemented by some unusual angles and images. The film is cashing in on the explosion of reality style TV and the old dark house is dotted with web cams which catch the action in the house.

The acting and dialogue are both convincing and for the most part the film manages to avoid the silliness and improbabilities which are often a feature of films of this kind. The bickering and gossiping amoung the contestants is similar to the antics of those on these types of programmes, although nobody on TV has met a gruesome end, yet!

Those of you who like a good scare but who also like their movies to be intelligent and, at least halfway, plausible shouldn't be disappointed.
