Plot Summary:  Jack Campbell (Nicolas Cage) is a successful, wealthy Wall Street businessman who has everything money can buy.  He is a bachelor who has a New York Penthouse, a fast car and enough money to buy a small country!  It is Christmas Eve and Jack is working hard preparing for a multi-zillion dollar deal!  When he leaves the office he has a strange encounter with a man who questions whether Jack really has everything he wants.

Jack goes home and goes to bed alone in his luxury apartment but wakes up on Christmas Day next to Kate Reynolds (Tea Leoni) the college girlfriend he almost married.  He wakes up not as the sucessful Businessman but as The Family Man complete with wife, children, mortgage and dog!  This family man doesn't settle multi-billion dollar deals.  He works for his father-in-law as a tyre salesman...

Review:  We all ask ourselves "What if...?  What if I had taken that job?  Or what if I had moved to Australia?  In this film Jack gets to find out about one of his "What if s".  More-than-that he wakes up living a life he could have lead if he had made different decisions.  The film is an intriguing romantic drama with plenty of humour.  Maybe a bit too sentimental and it certainly has all the hallmarks of a "nice" "safe" Christmas story.  Nevertheless it's still a good entertaining story.

Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni work well together and Cage is convincing as he tries to adjust from Businessman to Family Man.

Lasting thought: What is success?  How do you measure it?  We don't always know when we have it and when we think we have it we don't.  I still wouldn't say no to Jack's car and Penthouse!!!
