Plot Summary
Brian
O’Connor (Paul Walker) is a disgraced cop who has been stripped of his
badge but when he is approached to infiltrate a gang it could be his
chance to redeem himself. Brian
will need to impress the Miami street racing circuit with his driving
skills to make contacts and get close to his target.
These are not the type of people who want an undercover cop getting
in their way and if they discover who Brian really is, getting his badge
back will be the least of his worries!
Review
This is the sequel to
The Fast And The Furious
which starred Vin Diesel and Paul Walker and while Paul Walker returns as
the undercover cop, Brian O’Connor, there is no Vin Diesel.
The original movie was weak on story and dialogue but big on
action, stunts, speed and noise! This
sequel is no different. Fast
gleaming customised cars, crazy street chases, shootouts and noise - loads
of noise - from roaring engines to blaring music.
The movie has a rock video feel
to it with the stunts and action scenes having a strange unreal feel about
them. The stunts seem to miss
the gritty reality of less flamboyant car stunts and perhaps even fall
short of the action sequences in the original movie.
It’s difficult to rate the
acting performances when the movie concentrates on stunts and action to
the detriment of characters, story and dialogue.
Call me shallow but somehow beside gleaming sports cars the
good-looking cast meet the essential “cool” image.
The
Bottom Line: If you enjoyed
The Fast And The Furious
you’ll probably enjoy another spin around the block and if you hated the
original, stay clear, as this sequel offers nothing new.
